Buddhists showed the power of peace in front of the UN Building

On July 10, 2013, Buddhists monks and followers gathered together to show the 'Power of Peace' in front of the UN Building. They gathered together to plead for Peace and Harmony, and also for stricter protection of the sacred landmark. 
 
This peaceful gathering took place in result of the series of bombings at one of Buddhism's holiest sites in India on July 7, 2013. A total of 9 bombs exploded near the Mahabodhi temple complex in Bodh Gaya (place where Buddha reached enlightenment), which resulted in two wounded monks and devasted Buddhists world wide.
