"Monastic Life is the Most Noble" ชีวิตสมณะคือชีวิตที่สูงส่ง

We can explain this easily. Let's see how the Lord Buddha taught us.

The Lord Buddha taught us that, the life of the householder or married person is a narrow path, the ordained life is a spacious path. ชีวิตฆราวาส หรือชีวิตครอบครัวเป็นหนทางคับแคบ ชีวิตสมณะเป็นหนทางที่กว้างใหญ่

Narrow แคบ

Spacious กว้างใหญ่, มหาศาล

Then you can explain why the Lord Buddha taught this by asying "Because household life has opportunities for accruing merit and practicing meditation but are minimal compared to the opportunities of a monk." เพราะว่า ชีวิตฆราวาสมีโอกาสสำหรับการสั่งสมบุญและปฏิบัติธรรมเพียงน้อยนิด หากเปรียบเทียบกับโอกาสที่สมณะได้รับ

Minimal น้อยที่สุด

The householders have to devote a lot of time supporting their families and earning a living, which does not leave them time to venerate the Triple Gem each day. ฆราวาส ต้องอุทิศเวลาอย่างมากในการดูแลครอบครัวและทำมาหาเลี้ยงชีพ ทำให้ไม่มีเวลาแม้แต่จะบูชาพระรัตนตรัยในแต่ละวัน

Householders have so little opportunity to study the Dhamma that even though they might refer to themselves as Buddhist. They lack much knowledge that Buddhism offers. ชีวิตครอบครัวยังมีโอกาสน้อยมากในการศึกษาธรรมะแม้ว่าพวกเขาจะกล่าวว่า ตัวเขาเป็นชาวพุทธก็ตาม

In such a condition as this, householders tend to waste their time with worldly matters and have no opportunity to better themselves spiritually. ฆราวาสมีแนวโน้มที่จะเสียเวลาไปกับเรื่องในทางโลกและไม่มีโอกาสที่จะฝึกฝนตนเองในทางจิตวิญญาณ

This is why the Lord Buddha called the household life a "Narrow Path". และนี้ก็เป็นสาเหตุที่พระพุทธเจ้ากล่าวว่า ชีวิตการครองเรือนเป็นชีวิตที่คับแคบ

Other reasons may include that they are both good and bad people amongst those we know. Sometimes we can choose who we associate with, but sometimes we cannot. อีกเหตุผลหนึ่ง ท่ามกลางผู้คนที่ดีและคนไม่ดีเหล่านี้ บางครั้งเราสามารถเลือกที่จะไม่สมาคมด้วยได้แต่บางครั้งเราก็ไม่สามารถเลือกได้

Envy and competition amongst one another may ultimately lead us to cause harm to each other in some way. This is the reason why the narrow path or household life make it difficult to purify the mind. ผู้คนที่มีความอิจฉา และแข่งขันกันในท้ายที่สุด อาจจะนำมาสู่การทำร้ายซึ่งกันและกันในทางใดทางหนึ่ง

That which prolongs the time we have to spend undergoing the suffering of the cycle of existence is endless if we blunder into committing serious karma of violence or cruelty. มันเป็นการขยายเวลาที่เราต้องใช้ในการเผชิญกับความทุกข์ในวัฏจักรของชีวิต

Prolong ยืดเวลา ขยายเวลา

Undergo ประสบ, เผชิญกับ

Cycle of existence วัฏจักรของชีวิต

Which is endlessly perhaps if we blunder into committing serious karma of violence or cruelty. ซึ่งมันไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด บางทีถ้าเราทำผิดพลาดอย่างร้ายแรงยังต้องรับวิบากกรรมอันรุนแรง และโหดร้าย

Endlessly อย่างไม่สิ้นสุด

Blunder กระทำผิดร้ายแรง

Violence รุนแรง

Cruelty โหดร้าย

At last we can say for these reasons the Lord Buddha encouraged ordination and praised "Monastic life is the most noble" as a path of spaciousness. เหตุผลทั้งหมดนี้ พระพุทธเจ้าจึงสนับสนุนการบวช

and praised the nobility fo ordination as a path of spaciousness or we can say that monastic life is the most noble. และสรรเสริญความสูงส่งของการบวชว่า เป็นหนทางอันกว้างใหญ่หรือ เราพูดได้ว่า "ชีวิตสมณะ คือ ชีวิตที่สูงส่งมากที่สุด"
