Your Son Is From Dusita Heaven

CASE STUDY

I pay my highest respect to you, Luang Phaw.

My father was a police officer. As the Chairman of the Youth Buddhism Association, he was also a regular supporter for the novice monk ordinations. He survived a serious car accident. He had a clotted artery. He survived heart failure a total of 9 times. He is now 81 years old. After bypass surgery, his physical health has returned to normal.

My mother was a nurse, always loved to make merit, and offered alms to monks every morning. Aside from her regular job, she also had a pond where she raised fish for sale. Whenever there was a buyer, she would use a woven basket to catch the fish. This would scrape the skin off the fish and cause them to bleed. But she did not continue this for long before she quit. Ten years later, my mother died from a gastric ulcer. Before she died, she said she saw 4 monks standing near her, discussing and teaching her about Dhamma while she was hospitalized.

I have 5 siblings and I am the middle child. My siblings went to study abroad when they were 15-16 years of age. So we have not spent much time together. After we graduated, we went on to live our separate lives. We do not relate to or feel close to one another, but I have managed to bring my siblings together to work.

My wife and I had known each other for only 6 months before we got married. She later became pregnant. During her pregnancy, she chanted and meditated regularly. The day before she gave birth to our baby, I had a dream that I went to select jewelry in a palace. The next day, my wife gave birth to our son. On the day of our son’s birth, our whole family chanted in the delivery room.

When my son was 2 months old, I dreamt that I was surrounded by stupas that contained the relics of the Lord Buddha. So, I went to make merit in Myanmar, Laos and in Eastern Thailand.

My son motivated us to install the DMC satellite because we wanted him to listen to Dhamma at a young age. Although he is less than one year old, he will pay respect to monks every time and he also likes to dance to the music on DMC. So my wife, my in-laws, and I all get to watch DMC with him.

Watching DMC has given me opportunities to make merit for the 2004 Kathina, the casting of personal golden Buddha images, pillars of the Great Meditation Stadium, and the DMC satellite fund for schools with you, our great teacher. When it is announced on DMC, I make a decision immediately in front of the TV. Then I hurry to the temple to make the actual donation. I am filled with delight every time I make merit. Whenever I go to the temple, I would drive around to see the pillars in the Great Meditation Stadium that I made a donation for and I am filled with great joy every time, even though it is not yet complete. At this point, I have made the decision to quit drinking wine for the rest of my life and have stopped selling wine openers as you have suggested. As soon as you gave this advice, I decided immediately to stop selling it and don’t regret the loss of revenue.

I would like to ask for Luang Phaw’s kindness to answer the following questions:

1. What kammic retribution caused my father to get into a car accident and survive heart failure a total of 9 times? What merit helped him live on to this day? How can this kammic retribution be corrected? Why did my father’s health revert to normal after the bypass surgery?

2. Did my mother die due to the kammic retribution of raising the fish for sale? Where did she go after she died? What mental images appeared before her prior to her death?
Did she receive the merit I dedicated to her? How are her current living conditions? What merit should I make for her so that she could have a happy afterlife? What messages does she have for us?

3.What caused my family, that is, my father and my siblings, not to be close? How should I repay my debt of gratitude towards my mother and father so that they can have as much accrued merit with them as possible?

4.How were my wife and I related in our past lives? Why did we decide to get married despite knowing each other for only 6 months? Why was I so impressed when I saw her read the Buddhist proverb on the TV program?

5. Before my wife gave birth to our son, I dreamt that I was selecting jewelry in a palace. When my son was 2 months old, I dreamt that I was surrounded by many stupas containing the relics of the Lord Buddha. Why did I have these dreams? Were these positive premonitions?

6. Where did my son come from before he was born? What kamma caused me and my wife to love making merit when my wife was pregnant? When my wife gave birth to our son, everybody chanted in the delivery room. What kamma encouraged him to pursue perfections even though, at just 11 months old, he has been able to make great merit such as 1 Kathina contribution, 10 Pillars of the Great Meditation Stadium, and many personal golden Buddha images, although I had only started coming to the temple for less than a month

7.What merit allowed me to establish my business on my own in a very short period and allowed me to support and encourage my siblings to work together?

8.People said that the spirit at my main office is really powerful. Whoever steals anything must return the stolen goods quickly. Why is that? Is there really a spirit? What should I do?

9.How have my wife, my son, and I pursued perfections together with the community in our past lives?

10.Why have other people said that I am quick to understand the temple’s goals and the pursuit of perfections? Simply by watching the teachings of Luang Phaw through the DMC, I make immediate decisions to donate for a project. What is the fruit of the merit for making such a quick commitment, in particular, the merit of donating for the pillars of the Great Meditation Stadium, right away with an unconditional heart? How will the merit blossom for me and my family?

11.What is the difference in merit when engraving the name of Luang Pu or Luang Phaw on the pillars versus engraving the name of a layperson? If I engraved the name of my mother, will she get this merit? If so, how?

12.What duty can I perform to help you support Buddhism? How can I make more great Dana merit with Luang Phaw? I wish to be a part of all of Luang Phaw’s projects.

Luang Phaw's Dream

I closed my eyes, dreamed and woke up with these answers.
When you tell anybody the story like a tale, it will make anyone know more about retribution (Law of Kamma)

1.In his past life, your father was a bodyguard of a king who was being murdered. Your father caught and arrested the murderer and severely tortured him for a confession. The murderer would not confess and committed suicide by hitting his head to death on a wall.

In that lifetime, criminals were tortured by dipping their heads down into the water, using straps, whips, sticks, or other devices. This kammic retribution caused your father to get into a car accident.

Your father had a clotted artery due to the demerit of overworking laborers and slaves, day and night, over many months, to finish the construction of the grand palace for a ceremony, in a timely manner.

This caused them to be exhausted nearly to death. This is why your father is so exhausted in this lifetime.

2. Your mother had stomach cancer mainly because of kamma from her past life, but it is supported by the kamma of raising fish for sale in this life. In her past life, she was born into an agricultural society where she had to raise and kill many animals for food and for sale. This caused her to have a short life.

Before she died, she recalled her merit and had a bright vision. She died and woke up in a golden celestial castle in Phase II of Tavatimsa (2nd level of heaven). She is a female angel [devadhita], enjoying her celestial treasure in the heaven. She received the merit you dedicated to her, which makes her happier.

She is among female angels and is socializing in the high society of angels, in her friend’s celestial castle who lives next to her. She has a message for you that she is now so happy that she has forgotten everything on the earth. But she recognizes the merit every time you dedicate it to her.

3. Your family did not live together because in your past life, your father also sent his children to study in other cities or countries. This is not due to any kammic retribution.

To repay a debt of gratitude towards one’s parents, you should persuade your parents to accrue a lot of merit. Persuade them to make every merit, Dana (generosity), Sila (precepts), and Bhavana (meditation), if they are still alive, or dedicate merit to them if they have passed away.

4. You and your wife have been husband and wife for many previous lifetimes now. In the last Buddhist Era, you were a millionaire who loved to accrue the merit with the right recipients and loved to support the public works. You were also a generous “supporter” of the community.

When your wife read the Buddhist proverb on the TV program, this impressed you, because in your past lives, you had both joined the community and made merit together at the temple. You loved to have your wife read Dhamma books to you because it brought you delight to listen to her.

Even during the last moments of your previous life, your wife chanted and read Dhamma books to you until you passed away, so this was still deep in your mind.

5. Before your son was born, you dreamt that you were selecting jewelry in a palace. When your son was 2 months old, you also dreamt that you were surrounded by stupas containing the relic of the Lord Buddha. This represents the positive premonition that your son is a person of merit who will bring his parents to pursue perfections with the community.

6. Before your son was born, he was residing in the special merit zone of Dusita (the 4th level of heaven), in the “Supporter” section. In the last Buddhist Era, you were a family: father, mother and son. While pursuing perfections with the community, you all made resolutions to born together again.

In that past life, your son was a kind millionaire, who made great amounts of special merit, both by himself and by persuading his associates and his workers to make merit, too.

After waiting until you and your wife were married, your son then came down to be born. Before he was born, there was a positive premonition for the arrival of a person of merit, including the chanting in the delivery room.

After he was born, your business improved, which allowed your son to make great merit even though you were introduced to the temple less than a month ago.

7. You established a business single-handedly and quickly became wealthy and are able to support your siblings because the Dana merit in your previous life took effect.

8. In your past life, you had a large business. Later, a couple stole your merchandise and ran away. You came to the community and received advice from a monk who told you to make the merit for 7 days and make a resolution that in your next life, no one will be able to steal your belongings.

Because of the merit and resolutions you made, when someone steals your belongings, the merit you made makes the sprites (angels), near your main office, influence the thief to return the stolen items.

The merit is really crucial for this, so every time you make merit, you should make a resolution that, if you do not give consent, let no one steal your things, and dedicate the merit to the angels [devata] who reside in that area.

9. You and your family have an unconditional heart in pursuing perfections. After hearing an announcement on DMC about a merit project, you and your family make immediate decisions to donate. The fruit of this meritious deed, when it takes effect, will bring you great wealth without any obstacles.

10. By engraving the name of Lung Pu, Luang Phaw, and Khun Yay on the pillar of the Great Meditation Stadium, you are creating a merit connection with them. As a result, you will reborn again with them to pursue perfections and will never stray from the community.

By engraving your mother’s name on the pillar, she will receive the merit immediately.

11.You should make the merit yourself, with all your might, and persuade relatives and friends to support Buddhism - Vijja Dhammakaya. You should be a guiding light that shines upon the right path for humans on earth and you should make resolutions to follow the community to the special merit zone of Dusita (4th level of heaven).
