Aversion of the Temple
22. Surrounded by those Obstruct your Path to the Temple
Question from the audience:
Relatives and other people in my circle often find ways to prevent me from visiting the temple. What action that I performed in my previous lifetimes, caused this to happen to me in this lifetime? My husband, my eldest son, and my 2nd oldest daughter do not understand the reasons for making merit. Did these three ever pursue perfections with the community? How should I persuade them to join me in pursuing perfections with the community?
Answer:
Relatives and other people in your circle often find ways to prevent you from visiting the temple because you have persuaded few people to make merit in your previous lifetimes. However, you have already changed this blueprint in this lifetime by persuading others to perform good deeds. It is the right thing to do. Your husband, son and daughter have made merit with the community in their previous lifetimes, but not continuously. You have to be a good friend to them, exuding patience and providing them with good reasoning. One day, in the not so distant future, the merits from their previous lifetimes will turn them towards the temple to pursue perfections with you.
