The 44th Meeting of Subcommittee on Buddhist Affairs

The Subcommittee on Buddhist Affairs, the House of Parliament, Thailand, made a decision to continue the 1,000,000-Laywoman Mass Training Project as well as they will attend in the 2nd Japanese Dhammakaya Ordination Ceremony and the Ceremony of Morning Alms offering to the 10,000 monks at Hat Yai city.

Mr. Somkiat Soralamba

The Subcommittee had the 44th meeting at the Committee Meeting Room in the Parliament Building 1. Mr. Somkiat Soralamba, the president of Committee on Buddhist Affairs, was the president of the meeting.

Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong

In this meeting Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, the consultant of Committee on Buddhist Affairs, presented the 1,000,000-Laywoman Mass Training Project which is initiated by the Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh, the abbot of Dhammakaya temple. This project comes from the 100,000–Laywoman and 500,000–Laywoman Mass Training Project. The president will propose it to the Committee in the subsequent meeting.

Moreover, the 2nd Japanese Dhammadayada Ordination Project was reported in the meeting. The Ordination Ceremony will be organized on August 14th, 2010 at the Main Chapel, Dhammakaya temple, Khlong Sam sub–district, Khlong Luang district, Pathumthani province and the Subcommittee will attend in this ceremony as well.

The Subcommittee will go to attend in the Ceremony of the Morning Alms Offering to 10,000 Monks which will take place on August 29th, 2010 at Hat Yai city, Songkhla province. They will visit the 100,000–Monk Ordination & Training Center in Songkhla province and will pay respect to the monks who win the Buddhakunoopakarn Awards, the awards for the monks who make the benefits for the Buddhism, as well.
