The Casting of the 7th Golden Statue of Luang Pu Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen

The Most Ven. Phramongkolthepmuni (Sod Candasaro), the Dhammakaya Vijja Rediscoverer or Luang Pu Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, was a monk who had great morality and was holy.  So, his disciples who believe in him from all over the world agree to cast the golden statue of Luang Pu.  It is the announcement to the world and makes them realize Luang Pu’s kindness and goodness by the intelligent way.  When we cast his statue in gold, the world will be doubted and have many consequent questions such as why we cast him in gold.  Then, it is our chance to explain his morality, holiness, and determination and persuade them to do and follow him.

When the time passes by and gold is rarely found and more expensive, or in the next 1,000 years, there will be some frequently asked questions that why people in this era extremely believe in him so much that they cast him in gold which is worthy.  This puzzle will attract people, especially the troubled ones, to search for the answer such as “Who was Luang Pu?”, “How important was he?”  When they come and see the golden statue of Luang Pu, they will be interested and begin to study his story.  Then, they will believe in him and appreciate so that they try to practice Dhamma for finding the way of freeing themselves from troubles through the teaching of the Lord Buddha like Luang Pu did.



How difficult it is …
The casting of the golden statue of Luang Pu Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen is not happened easily.  All disciples should not miss this chance because the difficulty of casting the golden statue of Luang Pu is as follows.

1.    The monks who have great morality and are holy and good fertilized merit fields like Luang Pu are rarely found.  Also, such monks have to accumulate a lot of this kind of merit or have much morality enough to inspire people in this era to believe strongly and want to cast him with the worthy things such as pure gold.

2.    Gold is worthy and expensive.  Even the casting of the Buddha image or a monk’s statue is difficult, the thinker who launches the casting is hardly found as well.  So, this kind of casting is rarely happened.

3.    There are few people who are beloved and can collect a lot of gold enough to cast the image or statue.

4.    Those who want to cast the golden statue of Luang Pu used to make merit with Luang Pu before or if they have never made merit with him, they must have some special merit from the previous lifetimes which inspire themselves to think and want to make big merit again.

5.    If you do not have much money but want to cast the image or the statue by yourself, it is impossible to be done because you do not have enough money.

6.    Even if you have much money enough to do by yourself, the power of the casting is not as powerful as the casting by mass people who strongly believe.  Also, when you pass away, it will be difficult to keep the image or the statue because it is the personal casting, not the public.  Most people do not feel that they are the owners and they will not help one another to keep it.

7.    If the casting of the golden statue of Luang Pu finish, but you just believe or know it later, you will miss a chance to do.




This is a good chance for you to make merit by casting the 7th golden statue of Luang Pu together.  This statue is being used in the Dhammachai Dhutanga along the Path of the Great Master which will be arranged every January.  There are thousands of monks performing the Dhutanga and this statue will be in the front of them.  There are hundred thousands of people welcoming the Dhutanga monks every day and they will bow to pay respect this statue.  It will bring good luck for them.  Those who see this statue will become more faithful, and then they will study Luang Pu’s biography and teachings.  If they meditate and attain Dhammakaya, you will also get this kind of big merit because you cast the golden statue.
