If my father had passed away, we would have been better than this

Questions from the audience:

My father was a merchant who did not achieve in his career.  He had not cherished my family, but his concubines’ families.  Moreover, he brought his 4th concubine and her two children to live with us. So my mother had looked after them for 8 years before gave them some money as fund so that they separated from us.

My mother has 6 children and we all graduated and have good jobs. We have never disappointed my mother at all, but we do not love our father. We were sad from our father’s deeds and I often thought that if my father had passed away, we would have been better than this.  My father passed away because of the heart disease.  Did I have sin from this bad idea?

Answers:

You had wanted your father die; it was your bad mental deed. It will cause someone to think with you like this.  However, you can solve this problem by meditating and dedicating merit to your father.  If you do like this, this bad retribution will be less.  If you attain Dhammakaya, this bad retribution will be gone.
