Buddhists in Buriram Province Join in the Five-Precept Keeping Village Project
A lot of Buddhists in Buriram province have joined in the Five-Precept Keeping Village Project because they want to harmonize by using Dharma of the Buddha.
At Wat Phoyoi in Banyang sub-district, Lamplaimat district, Buriram province, the Most Ven. Phrarajpariyatikavi, Ecclesiastical Province Governor of Buriram, as well as other monks have participated in this project. In addition, Mr. Seri Srihatrai, Buriram Provincial Governor, other head of government, subdistrict headmen, village headmen, and Buddhists in Banyang subdistrict, Lamplaimat district, totally over 300 people from 6 villages, have unanimously joined the in the Five-Precept Keeping Village Project by using dharma in Buddhism to harmonize people in societies. They observe 5 precepts, not exploit one another, live together with kindness which will bring peace to themselves, their families, societies, and country.

Wat Phoyoi belongs to Maha Nikaya Monk Group. It is an old temple which was built 200 years ago. There is some evidence that this temple was found in 1758 in the finale Ayutthaya Kingdom. It has got the Royal Permission and Land Donation to build the Main Buddhist Chapel in 1767 and has been developed from then on. There are 25 abbots governing this temple and now the Most Ven. Phrasripariyatithada, Vice Ecclesiastical Province Governor of Buriram, is the abbot. All six villages have strong leaders which over 200 Buddhists are going to the temple and keep the precepts every Buddhist Monk Day and during the Buddhist Lent.
