Has the parent’s death time caused the children to be rich or poor?

Questions from the audience:
There is a Chinese belief that if the parent passed away in daytime, he/she would not leave any properties to the children.  Is it correct and why?

Answer:
It is the continuous belief which comes from the reason that if the parent passed away in daytime, the children are not ready to arrange the funeral.  The children’s properties depend on their merit, not their parent’s death time.  If the parent passed away in nighttime and the children have little merit, the children will be poor.  If the parent passed away in daytime and the children have a lot of merit, the children will be rich.  So it does not depend on the parent’s death time, but it depends on the children’s perfection of generosity.  The best way is the children should discuss about how to arrange their parent’s funeral suitably and what they can do for them and their parent to get the most merit.
