Held the First Sunday Ceremony of Offering alms to the Lord Buddha

On Sunday September 5th, 2010, Dhammakaya Melbourne Temple in Australia arranged the First Sunday Ceremony of Offering alms to the Lord Buddha.  This ceremony began at 10.00 a.m. local time.

In the morning, the teaching monks led the congregations to do the morning chanting, meditate, request to keep 5 precepts and say the meal–offering speech.  The monks chanted the Auspicious Victory Verse to bless the congregations.  Then, Thai, Lao and Australian congregations in Melbourne offered the meal to the monks together.

After lunch, they meditated as well as the Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh during the Dhammakaya Time in Thailand (the local time was 12.30 p.m.).  The congregations prepared alms, meal and beautiful carved fruit to worship the Lord Buddha.  Later, they performed the Pick–up Robe Ceremony together because of the birthday anniversary.  Moreover, they would like to support Buddhism and Dhammakaya Vijja dissemination worldwide.  Ms. Susan Dechprakun, Mr. Somboon Ngoichansri, Ms. Siranee Chanchamsai, Ms. Tammy Nuyen, and Jenden the little child were the presidents of the ceremony.

Phra Ronravee Ravipabho, the teaching monk, gave the sermon about “Father” because that day was the Australian Father’s Day.  He taught about the Lord Buddha is the Father of the World, the Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh, the perfection–pursuing leader, would like people in the world to attain Dhammakaya and the biological father. Finally, they donated and expressed their intention to make the coming Kathina merit.  The Kathina Ceremony in this year will be spent to construct the Master Nun Chandra Khonnokyoong Centennial Memorial Building.  The congregations brought the monastic robe set to make a wish at home before returning it in the coming Kathina Ceremony.
