Laterm our Bodhisatta went to study under the Yogis Alara and Udaka respectively. Soon he exhausted both teachers' knowledge and was still unable to find the way to end suffering.
หลังจากนั้น พระบรมโพธิสัตว์ได้ไปศึกษาที่สำนักของดาบสชื่อ อาฬารดาบส และอุทกดาบส ตามลำดับ ในไม่ช้าพระองค์ก็ได้ศึกษาจนหมดความรู้ของครูทั้งสองแต่พระองค์ยังทรงไม่สามารถหาทางพ้นทุกข์ได้
Respectively แปลว่า ตามลำดับ
Exhaust แปลว่า หมดไม่มีเหลือ
Both Yogis realized our Bodhisatta's uncommon talents and invited him to remain with them as a teacher.
ดาบสทั้งสองตระหนักได้ว่า พระบรมโพธิสัตว์นั้นเป็นผู้มีความสามารถพิเศษที่ไม่ธรรมดาจึงได้เชิญพระองค์ให้อยู่กับตนในฐานะอาจารย์
Realize แปลว่า ตระหนัก
Talent แปลว่า ความสามารถพิเศษ
However, our Bodhisatta decided to leave his teachers to seek for the way out of suffering by himself.
แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม พระองค์ก็ได้ตัดสินใจอำลาจากอาจารย์ทั้งสองเพื่อแสวงหาหนทางแห่งการพ้นทุกข์ด้วยพระองค์เอง

The Lord Buddha's History
He bagan by practicing self-mortfication, a popular practice among the ascetics at that time. He had pressed his teeth together, He had severely restricted his breaths. He had starved himself until he was just skin and bones, but he was still nowhere near finding the way out of suffering.
พระองค์เริ่มต้นด้วยการปฏิบัติ ทุกรกิริยา หรือ การทรมานตนเอง ซึ่งเป็นวิธีที่ฝึกกันอย่างแพร่หลายในเหล่านักบวชเวลานั้น ท่านกดพระทนต์เข้าด้วยกัน กลั้นลมหายใจอย่างรุนแรงและอดอาหารกระทั่งเหลือแต่หนังหุ้มกระดูก แต่ท่านก็ยังไม่พบหนทางในการพ้นทุกข์
Self-mortification แปลว่า การทรมานตนเอง
Ascetic แปลว่า นักบวช
Severely แปลว่า อย่างรุนแรง
Starve แปลว่า อดอาหาร
He decided to stop self-mortification, and he recalled about his happiness and peaceful mind when he was 7 years old, he meditated under the Java plum tree.
พระองค์ตัดสินพระทัยหยุดการทรมานตนเอง และในเวลานั้นท่านระลึกได้ถึงความสุขและความสงบใจตอนที่ท่านนั่งสมาธิใต้ต้นหว้าเมื่อท่านอายุได้ 7 ชันษา
Recall แปลว่า ระลึก
He started to resume eating again, as soon as he was healthy again, he took up meditation practice instead.
ท่านจึงได้เริ่มต้นเสวยพระกระยาหารอีกครั้ง จนกระทั่งท่านกลับมามีสุขภาพร่างกายแข็งแรงอีกครั้งหนึ่งแล้วท่านจึงได้เริ่มต้นปฏิบัติด้วยการเจริญสมาธิแทน
Take up แปลว่า เริ่มต้น
The Five Ascetics, who had been attending to our Bodhisatta during his period of self-mortification, decided to leave him because they believed that he stopped his attempt and would never become self-enlightened.
ปัญจวัคคีย์ทั้ง 5 ผู้ซึ่งได้ติดตามพระบรมโพธิสัตว์มาตลอดในระหว่างที่ท่านได้บำเพ็ญทุกรกิริยานั้น เมื่อเห็นดังนั้นจึงละทิ้งพระองค์ไปเพราะคิดว่าท่านได้หยุดทำความเพียรและจะไม่สามารถบรรลุธรรมได้
Attempt แปลว่า ความพยายาม
Self-enlighten แปลว่า การบรรลุธรรมได้ด้วยตนเอง
