Ever since I started to go to the temple on Magha Puja day, February 9th, 1990, I have joined and made every merit with the temple and have always been a strong merit leader. Since I have lived in Hawaii I also have been a merit leader and supported Dhammakaya temples in America for 7 years, especially this year. I have contributed to help build a monastery and for the land to build Wat Phra Dhammakaya Oregon. And the most special thing is that once I heard about this year’s Kathina, I immediately provided my income from my restaurant business ‘Big Wave Shrimp’ for the Kathina without any conditions or excuses. I decided to donate for Dhammachai Kathina for Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Thailand and 4 branches of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in America for 2 M altogether.

Soon after I made Kathina contribution, an amazing event happened which I never expected before and it is the greatest luck. A famous American TV programme called the ‘Food Network’ contacted me for interviews and shooting for a program about my restaurant. I asked them “Why do you choose us?” and their answer that astonished me was “You are the best”, which means your restaurant is the best one around. They had received a number of emails admiring my restaurant and telling them to shoot a program here because “the food is the best and the owner is also the best” so they came to inspect and make a program about the restaurant, the crew were all happy and full of our delicious food.

This TV programmed is called “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”, and simply means “let’s go have some great food!” where the famous host named ‘Guy Fieri’ drives to a good and well-known restaurant in each state of America and introduces it to their audience of three hundred million viewers across America. And a restaurant which this man introduces on TV would be very lucky, even luckier than winning the 1st prize in the lottery, and their life would definitely change.

Within an hour after my restaurant was on TV, two groups of customers showed up at the restaurant. They smiled and pointed at me, they said “I saw you on TV just now so we rushed here to eat, you’re a movie star. May I take a picture with you?” “Your restaurant is very famous, congratulations!” And soon, a lot more customers kept coming until 5 workers didn’t seem like enough. Even Japanese and Korean tour buses have contacted me to bring their tourists to eat at my restaurant. Before, I had a monthly income of 1 M and after I contributed for Kathina my income has increased to 2 M per month, which I have contributed one or two hundred thousand to the temples each week. Soon in December there is going to be the 2012 ‘Global Surf’ competition here in Hawaii, and there would be many more tourists coming, therefore I am going to be prepared for miraculous wealth to contribute to more Kathina contributions.

However you do not need to be worried, I would not allow myself to indulge with ‘8 Worldly Vicissitudes’. I shall be humble, economic and moderate because I always considerate of what I am meant to do here and what my mission is as Luang Phaw's disciple. Everything that has happened to me is because of Kathina miracle which has rendered a ‘super, big, giant’ result; I have got to be well-known and prosperous simultaneously. And I do not reserve the right, everyone can do it like I do and they shall witness that merit truly exists and is great indeed. And I wish that every merit I have done for you, Luang Phaw, to be healthy, longevity of thousands of years, recovery from sickness and have such crystal clear face that whoever sees it they would be free from desires and attain Dhammakaya.
